Challenge # 29 : ATC - Artist Trading Card - group/set of 3

Welcome to this fortnights Dragonfly Challenge. We are so glad you are visiting us today. Please take your time to look around and I would love to encourage you to join us.
Dragonfly hugs to all our followers new and old.

And our winner for the 300 followers candy was Cindy
Cindy from Inlovewithpaper
Congratulations again.
Cindy has made contact and her prize is on the way...

In this challenge we are asking you to create 3 ATC's, a group or a set. So all sort of matching.
When I first stumbled upon ATC's, I didn't know what to do with them, but I have grown to love them. If you think phhhffttt, not going to do this one, please re consider. Because even if you are not an ATC fan, they do make the perfect card please give them a go...

An artist trading card (or ATC for short) is a tiny, original piece of art created with the intention of swapping or trading it with another artist, not selling it. The one rule an artist trading card must adhere to is the size. An ATC must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm. Click here for some more basic info on them.

Our Sponsors for this challenge are

Pickled Potpourri

Winner  ONE will receive a voucher of $ 7.00 to spend in the store

and QKR

Winner TWO will receive 3 Digis of their choice

Here is what our gorgeous Dragonfly Team have created

Tania made this gorgeous set of ATC's using the image from QKR called apple blossom, perfect choice, don't you think?

Sammy made these beautifully coloured set of ATC's using silhouette images from Pickled Potpourri

Wynn created these Christmas themed ATC's using images from Pickled Potpourri

Tracey using Potpourri images, lovely colours

Susan using this gorgeous message in a bottle image from QKR, love them...

Winners Post for Challenge #27 - Use a peg!

Well it's that time again - to announce the

This challenge was another challenge it seems, even though there are lots of examples out there of people using pegs in their work - actual pegs that it - not just pictures of pegs. I would simple ask again that people who enter these challenges read the theme properly - it specifically stated to use wooden pegs.

I was flipping through blogland and found lots of examples in the last few days of people using these in innovative ways in their work 'cause pegs are very trending these days in the craft world..........however, on to the winner!

Such a good idea for party favors and presents!
This is just what I was hoping to see, these are wonderfully colorful and useful, well done ( Hilde)

Congratulations Vicki - please contact via the Winners tab at the top of this page, and don't forget to collect your winners blinkie to display as well!

We have a TOP TWO this week and I get to pick! Now, there is no prize with these but there is the  honour of being chosen and a blinkie to be displayed as well! Congratulations go to:

Drum roll......

Sooo cute and yes, I had to go and purchase that cloud and rain and sun (TIP: Flourish with a Bling have a $2 for everything sale on at the moment for June)! The other thing I really like about this is that it breaks the rule of 3 so beautifully and so effectively! That's the thing about rules in art work - made to be broken!

That little butterfly peg is just so cute and the perfect embellie for this card. I love all the Tim Holtzyness too going on there and the pleated ribbon and the card get the picture! Beautiful colouring work too - especially on the hair.

Ladies, you are all also invited to be Guest Designers for us, so if you are interested, again the details are in the Winners tab at the top of the page. We would love to have you join the team for a challenge.

Now, what is happening with the Dragonflies this week?  Well there is the....

300 follower candy
Once we reach 300 followers, I will do a random select and that person will receive a surprise gift.
So that could be you!! If you are a follower that is...

and the two new members of the team......

Welcome to both - why not checkout their work, including what they did for our newest challenge!

Our latest challenge should be less of a challenge as it is a card - BUT the real challenge is to do something that is also trending in the craft world at the moment  with our.........

Zentangle - Black and White - Card challenge

You can do it as a background as well or as the image or both.
We are not expecting you to be an expert, but at least give it a go...there are some beautiful patterns out there, so much to get inspired by. Check out Pinterest or check out this website about it all...

Our sponsors for this amazing challenge are

Winner will receive 3 Digis of their choice

Winner will receive 7 Digis of their choice

So, ladies (and gents) over to you to go TANGLE and create and then add it to your artwork in a CARD! Then came straight HERE and enter it - only a few entries as I write this, although some say they will have a go.......go on, double dare!

Challenge # 28 : Zentangle - Card Challenge

Hi all, it's wonderful to 'see' you all, hope you are well, big Dragonfly hugs to everyone.
Whenever we have the 'alternate' challenge everyone seems to get cold feet, lol.

We have been saddened by how many entries need to be disqualified because they are not following one very simple rule, and that is: You must be a follower of this blog to enter the challenges.....
So please make sure you are a follower before entering . Thanks

Watch out for next Wednesday Winners post.....

Here is something else to get your teeth into....
Zentangle - Black and White - Card challenge

You can do it as a background as well or as the image or both.
It's basically controlled doodling really, so we have all done it to some degree.
I know my example is very simple... so please excuse...we are not expecting you to be an expert, but at least give it a go...there are some beautiful patterns out there, so much to get inspired by. Check out Pinterest or check out this website about it all...

Our sponsor for this amazing challenge are two of my favourites

Winner will receive 3 Digis of their choice

Winner will receive 7 Digis of their choice

Be inspired...

Tania using Bugaboo image

Wynn has used this cute image from Bugaboo

Tracey (one of our newbies) using the same Bugaboo image as Tania, and how different they are.

Susan used the Bugaboo Butterfly in 5 different ways, just awesome

Jennifer our other newbie has used the Bugaboo Butterfly on this gorgeous card

as well as this gorgeous Sun image from Eureka

Hilde, couldn't resist, next best thing to a Dragonfly, this gorgeous Butterfly image  from Bugaboo
( warned you it was basic)

She also used this gorgeous tulip image from Eureka for this card, the orange surround is just a piece of cardstock used to take the photo...

CG has used this Sun Image from Eureka to perfection

Sammy used this gorgeous image from Bugaboo and what a great job she did.

Please welcome our new Dragonflies

Hi everyone, we have some great news to share, we have two new DT Members, and would like to introduce them to you today...Please make them welcome and drop in to say HI....

My name is Jennifer, and I am so excited to be joining the Crafting with Dragonflies DT!

I am a 49 year old married mom of 3 handsome sons. (they take after their gorgey father! grins!) We live in a quaint little village in NE Ohio, where it sometimes seems to snow forever and ever. Thankfully our almost 160 year old home keeps us nice and warm in this snow and maple syrup capitol of the state. Our 2 Labradors, Mocha and Latte, are my best buddies, as they keep me company now that the boys are all off at school. yes, I named them, and yes, I like coffee. I guess that is kinda like saying bees like honey. I REALLY REALLY REALLY like coffee. and zombies. and nerdy stuff.

I've been a lifelong crafter, doing needlepoint when I was a young girl, moving into scrapbooks when I had my boys, then rubber stamping when they were in elementary school. now I do lots of different kinds of paper crafting, but still primarily work on cards. my style leans toward the vintage and shabby. I do enjoy using lots of vintage bits and bobs on my projects when I can. I also like to add other fun goodies like tags and buttons and things I come across, like belt loops from a discarded pair of shorts. you never really know for sure what you might find on one of my cards or projects! that is part of what makes crafting so much fun

I am married & have 2 boys. We live in Oxford shire. I've been crafting for most of my life from knitting with my Granddad who taught me to knit to painting. Started to paper craft after my 2nd son was born so about 10 years & couple years ago got in to scrap booking which i teach at our local craft shop & other paper crafting. I'm also a demonstrator for Debbi Moore designs & do samples for create & craft.

So much talent on offer here, both girls have already blended in nicely with our other Dragonflies...
Make sure you pay them a visit and check out their wonderful creations....
Thanks girls, looking forward to working with you, blessings Hilde and the Team.

Challenge # 26: Celebration - Winners Blog

Challenge # 26: Celebration - We are turning ONE

Winners and Top Three Announcement

Brrr, it's is cold and foggy here - the 3rd day of winter - as I write this and the heater is working hard already. They say it has been a warm autumn, warmer than usual, but my toes are cold and I know that winter has arrived. However, last challenge we had a Celebration theme, and it warmed our little hearts to see all the entries we got for this.

Hilde always picks our winners, so  here they are, named beneath the lovely sponsors for this challenge:

Handmade Harbour are giving 6 Digis

# 2 : Blankina

A beautiful card with lovely die cuts, and great colours, the layout works really well.

Flourish with a Bling is generously giving $15 to spend in their shop

The detailing and colouring on this card is what appealed to me, really well put together and fits our theme.
and it has a dragonfly on it, eh Hilde!

MIC - Make it Crafty is giving $10 to the winner to spend

That is

Love this card, it has all the elements and then some, beautifully coloured and perfect for our theme.

Blessings, Hilde

Our TOP THREE were chosen this challenge by the lovely Design Team Member

WYNN, who says it is in no particular order -

A stunning creation. An adorable image and I loved all the texture and the sparkle.

Indy  1
A beautiful CAS card. I loved the simplicity and the colour combo.

A fun card. I love the die cut candle border and the colouring of the dragon's scales is fabulous. Wish my colouring was as good as this!

Many thanks to Wynn and her efforts and Congratulations to all the winners and TOP THREE. If ladies, you would go to the top of the page, you will see a tab called Winners/Contact Details. If you go there and follow the instructions you can claim your prize winners, and if any of you or the TOP THREE wish to be Guest Designers here on Crafting with Dragonflies, please contact re that as well.  There are also a WINNERs badge and a TOP THREE badge on the sidebar - right click and copy to paste into your blog and brag a little!

Ladies, there were others Hilde and Wynn considered for the Winners/TOP THREE but they were unfortunately not followers, so did not qualify. Please make sure you are a follower f you wish to be considered for any of the prizes or for TOP THREE........

Our current challenge is

Challenge # 27: Pegs

This fortnight we do have a challenge with a difference - and that is: PEGS!
We mainly mean the wooden ones - small, large or the dolly pegs.
Whatever takes your fancy.
They can be decorative; useful - such as magnets or just to hold things; could be on a card; or something else. Let your imagination roam.

We do not have a sponsor for this one so the winner will receive a surprise gift from me (Hilde), yeah!!

Another bit of news:
300 follower candy.
Once we reach 300 followers, I will do a random select and that person will receive a surprise gift.
So that could be you!!
